A 1908 Summit Avenue mansion. Three layers of Venetian plaster in the entry hall, and 400 linear feet of ornamental cornice work restored to original specification.
The restoration required matching a plaster color that had been applied in 1908 — a warm ivory with a faint rose undertone that no contemporary manufacturer produces. The craftsman mixed the finish on site, testing twenty-two iterations before the owner approved the match.
The ornamental work required casting molds from surviving original sections and hand-applying new runs in place. Nothing was pre-cast off-site. The work took eleven weeks.
