An 1894 Queen Anne Victorian. Complete restoration of original wood windows, front porch, ornamental exterior trim, and interior plaster. All work performed to Secretary of the Interior Standards.
Historic restoration is not renovation. The standard is different, the process is different, and the craftsmen who do it well are a small and aging community. This project required a team with skills in wood window restoration, lead paint abatement, ornamental plaster, and period joinery — skills that are rarely found in a single firm.
Mastercraft made two introductions on this project: the window restoration specialist and the ornamental plaster craftsman. The general contractor had worked with neither before. Both are now on his short list for every historic project he takes on.
